One of the first decisions when buying an LED screen is whether you need an indoor or outdoor model. The wrong choice can be costly, so let us clarify the differences.
Brightness
Outdoor screens have much higher brightness (4000–8000 nit) to be seen in sunlight, while indoor ones run at 800–2000 nit so they do not strain the eyes indoors.
Weather protection
Outdoor models have an IP65 or higher protection rating, making them resistant to rain, dust and extreme temperatures. Indoor ones do not need this.
Resolution (pixel pitch)
Since indoor screens are viewed up close, they use a smaller pixel pitch (P1.5–P4) for a clear image. Outdoor ones, viewed from afar, can use P4–P10.
